Myth in short: (Don't anger the gods) King Agamemnon had killed a deer and boasted he were the better
hunter.
This of course angered Artemis,
because it was her favorite deer. When Agamemnon wanted to set sail for Troy for the war,
there
was no wind after he had arrived at Aulis. A soothsayer told him he had to sacrifice his
daughter
Iphigehia in order to sooth Artemis, who had blocked the winds. Iphigenia arrives accompanied
by
her brother Orestes. Once at the altar Artemis replaces by a deer.
