There were two kinds of graffiti in Pompeii. Official announcements and canvassing; and a lot of real graffiti with texts like: " FURES FARAS FRVGI INTRO" (Thieves out, good people enter) found in V,5,2 (in the atrium) For official announcement were dedicated places, that after a while were covered with white wash for renewed use.
