In the north east corner of the complex a deep cysterne has been dug and cut out. It runs to a depth of 18 mtrs. and the end of the tunnel ends on the outside of the walls. The water was brought to cistern by means of an underground aqueduct that led the water from a natural spring to the cistern. This way the watersupplay of the city was pretty much secured
