Polyphemus

Polyphemus was the giant cyclops in the myth of the Odyssey. Though Cyclops only had one eye, the sculptor obviously had problems in creating such a face and gave the giant in fact a third eye. It seems also possible this was originally a statue of a man and a child and the third eye has been put later on the forehead. Note the third eye doesn't resemble the other two.
