Medusa



Myth in short: Medusa was a beautiful priestess in the temple of Athena. Athena caught her while she was being raped by Poseidon. Athena punished her by changing her into one of the three Gorgons, with snakes for hair. Nobody could look her directly into the face, without being petrified.
Perseus would kill her by looking via his reflecting bronze shield. Medusa who was pregnant from Poseidon, gave birth to Pegasus (a flying horse) and died.
