House of Menander
Wallpainting of Cassandra

Wallpainting in the house of Menander. End of the Troian war. At the left Menelaos who is taking back his wife Helena, the cause of the war. At the right Ajax the lesser (minor) is abducting Cassandra and is about to rape her. Agamemnon will take her as a concubine. Cassandra had received the gift of prophesy from Apollo, but when she refused to share his bed, he twisted the gift so that nobody would believe her prophesies, including the one about the wooden horse.
