Mosaic of Phrixus and Helle

Phrixus and Helle were twins hated by their stepmother Ino. Ino arranged the twins to be sacrificed but the two were saved by a ram with silver wool. Half way Helle feel of the ram and drowned in the sea beneath, now, after her, called Helle's sea or Hellespont. Phrixus sacrificed the ram to Zeus and hung the golden fleece of the ram in Ares' cave guarded by a dragon that never slept. Later Jason and the argonauts would come and get it.
